Wines of California: The Comprehensive Guide

Wines of California: The Comprehensive Guide “Wise Acre Vineyard is probably one of Napa Valley’s smallest commercial vineyard-wineries, measuring just half an acre. Founded in 2003 by Kirk and Lynn Grace… the winery made its first release with its 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines were planted in 2005 and were grafted to the Bosche Cabernet Sauvignon clones from Kirk’s parents’ vineyard: the Grace Family Vineyard.”

“We tasted their 2010 Cab and were impressed with the balance and complexity. Although this is a very young winery, we feel it’s an up-and-comer and one to watch. Wise Acre Vineyard Cabernet 2010 is dark purplish garnet, with aromas of dark plums, cassis, wild herbs, and pencil lead. In the mouth the fruit flavors are full and rich, complemented by rounded tannins.”
